　　English B在IB中隸屬于第二學(xué)科組語言B，也就是習(xí)得語言。English B是幾乎所有母語為非英語的學(xué)生會選修的學(xué)科(英語母語學(xué)生需選擇English A)。在新版大綱中(由2020年考試期開始)，五個核心主題包括:Identities(身份認同),Experiences(體驗),Human ingenuity(人類創(chuàng)造),Social organization(社會組織),Sharing the planet(共享地球),并且需要另外學(xué)習(xí)兩部原版文學(xué)作品。

　　本課程的目的是鼓勵學(xué)生質(zhì)疑語言和文本產(chǎn)生的意義，它們很少是直言不諱和明白無誤的，而往往是可爭辯的。

　　本課程的設(shè)計是靈活的。教師有機會以反映學(xué)生的興趣和關(guān)注的方式建構(gòu)課程，與此同時也培養(yǎng)學(xué)生掌握一系列可以靈活轉(zhuǎn)換應(yīng)用的技能。既要了解文本中為創(chuàng)造意義而使用的各種形式要素，也要探索意義如何受到由文化而決定的閱讀習(xí)慣的影響，以及產(chǎn)生和接受它們的環(huán)境的影響。

　　考試形式

 

　　在新大綱中，English B的考核內(nèi)容分為兩個部分：IA(內(nèi)部評分)和EA(外部評分,Paper1和Paper2)。內(nèi)部評估的形式為口試，外部評估則是最終的IB大考中的Paper 1和Paper 2。英語B的口試分為互動口語Interactive Oral和獨立口語Individual Oral兩種，滿分為20分。

 

　　解讀：

 

　　Paper1閱讀題型包括：理解題（單選、多選）、詞匯題、指代題、判斷正誤（需要找到依據(jù)）、同義詞替換、主旨題、推斷題、標題題等。

 

　　Paper2寫作，Interactive oral互動口語
